The Washing Post Announces that AT&T is Considering Abandoning Local Markets

The Washington Post is announcing today that AT&T and MCI are considering abandoning their local services. AT&T is looking to abondon two (as yet unannounced) markets within the week. We believe that this is the beginning of the saber rattling by the IXCs as they posture their political muscle for Federal action or rule setting to keep local competition alive.
