Friday, March 17, 2006
ProfitLine, the premier provider of telecom expense management (TEM), today announced that Stephen T. Hundley has been named president and chief executive officer, succeeding Rick Valencia, who will remain chairman of the ProfitLine Board of Directors and chief strategy officer. Mr. Valencia will continue in his role as visionary and thought leader for the company.
During his tenure at Accenture, Mr. Hundley played key leadership roles in growing the company's outsourcing business. Most recently, he served as executive director and chief operating officer for Accenture Procurement Solutions, which provides complete sourcing-to-pay procurement solutions, enabling clients to reduce their overall cost of acquiring goods and services. Mr. Hundley will assume his role as president and chief executive officer at ProfitLine on April 17.
"Attracting top talent such as Steve shows that the TEM market has firmly rooted itself within the best practices of business process outsourcing for large companies and demonstrates how bright our future is. I'm thrilled Steve is at the helm of ProfitLine" said Rick Valencia, chairman of the ProfitLine Board of Directors and chief strategy officer. "Steve brings a combination of deep business process outsourcing (BPO) expertise and leadership experience. During his career, he has delivered dramatic results in many different roles including business unit chief operating officer, business process outsourcing commercial officer, business unit chief financial officer, and business and corporate development roles. I am confident that under Steve's leadership, ProfitLine will take the industry to a whole new level. This transition has been a long time in the making and represents a positive and strategic shift for ProfitLine."
"I am excited about the opportunity to lead ProfitLine through the next phase of the telecom expense management industry's tremendous growth," said Steve Hundley, president and chief executive officer of ProfitLine. "ProfitLine has always been the visionary in the market, anticipating the changes and staying several steps ahead of the competition with their expertise and technology. I look forward to working with our management team and team members to further strengthen ProfitLine's marketplace leadership and guide the industry in new ways to help clients achieve complete control over their telecom expenses."
Mr. Hundley first joined Accenture in 1990, attained partnership at Accenture in 1999, was appointed chief financial officer for Accenture Technology Ventures in 2000, and was promoted to chief operating officer and executive director of Accenture Procurement Solutions in 2005. He has led numerous strategic corporate development initiatives and was the business negotiator on a number of Accenture's largest outsourcing contracts for Fortune 1000 clients.
"These new roles for both Steve and Rick represent a terrific opportunity for ProfitLine," said Doug Carlisle, managing director of Menlo Ventures. "With Steve's BPO background coupled with Rick's domain expertise and extensive business acumen, ProfitLine is positioned for future market success and long-term growth. We believe the telecom expense management industry will continue to gain momentum and is poised for explosive growth."
In addition to his role leading the ProfitLine Board of Directors, Mr. Valencia will serve as chief strategy officer identifying acquisition targets, assisting in business and partnership development, and remain a visionary and thought leader for ProfitLine's pioneering work in the telecom expense management market.
Mr. Valencia founded ProfitLine with the goal of helping clients navigate the complicated world of telecom expense management. Since then, he has grown the company into a multi-million dollar enterprise with dozens of large enterprise and government clients. Under Mr. Valencia's direction, ProfitLine has been a perennial pioneer in the telecom expense management industry, and was the first company to introduce the concept of managing the entire telecom lifecycle using telecom expense management tools such as MyTelcoManager.
