ProfitLine Names Harry Stephens President and Chief Operating Officer
Wednesday, August 25, 2004 — ProfitLine, the premier provider of telecom expense management services, has appointed Harry Stephens president and chief operating officer.
Stephens has an exceptional background in helping companies create and execute world-class, customer-centric operational processes. As president and chief operating officer, Stephens will take over the daily operations of ProfitLine, with a focus on streamlining and enhancing its services to its large enterprise clients in the retail, utilities, financial services and manufacturing industries, and to support ProfitLine's rapidly growing list of new Fortune 500 clients.
Rick Valencia remains at the helm of ProfitLine as chairman and chief executive officer, while the addition of Stephens will allow Valencia to focus on more strategic issues such as new product offerings, alliances and potential acquisitions.
Stephens has more than 30 years of experience in building industry-leading businesses. Most recently, he served as the president and chief executive officer for Avista Advantage, an expense management company focused on the utility industry. With 300 Fortune 1000 multi-site clients comprising $6.5 billion in annual utility spend, Advantage services more than 130,000 client locations and processes 350,000 invoices monthly. Over a two-and-a-half year period, Stephens contributed to dramatic improvements in growth and profitability derived from operational efficiencies and the introduction of innovative service offerings.
Previous to Avista Advantage, he held many senior executive positions in rapidly growing and established companies, including Grist Mill and Dole Food Company. Stephens received his masters of business administration from Harvard University, his masters of science in aeronautics and astronautics from M.I.T., and his bachelor of science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
