ProfitLine Wins Workplace Excellence Award
The San Diego Society of Human Resources Honors ProfitLine for Unique HR Programs
Tuesday, November 11, 2003 — ProfitLine Inc., the premier provider of telecom administrative outsourcing, received the Workplace Excellence award from the San Diego Society of Human Resource Management (SDSHRM).
ProfitLine was selected as the winner from 23 finalists. More than 500 people attended this year's award ceremony, held on November 5 at the Sheraton Harbor Island.
ProfitLine was recognized for its unique human resource practices, including its innovative "Shiner of the Month" award where the CEO applies a black shoe polish mark (a "shiner") on the outstanding employee's cheek that replicates the CEO's birthmark near his eye. ProfitLine's "Fun Team" events were also highlighted—monthly themes such as "The Price is Right," "ProfitLine Idol," and "ProfitLine Fear Factor" facilitate bonding and teamwork between different work groups, and create an environment where people can have fun.
