ProfitLine Expands Executive Team
Monday, October 07, 2002 — ProfitLine, Inc. today announced the expansion of its senior management team with the appointment of Doron Lurie as senior vice president of operations and Skip McDowell as senior vice president of sales. Both will report to Rick Valencia, ProfitLine's president and CEO.
Lurie brings 20 years experience in operations, marketing and leadership roles in the telecom, software and service industries. He most recently co-founded and led two startups: Conneq, a developer of Web personalization and email marketing software; and Carpe Diem Associates, a strategy consulting firm. Lurie previously served as Chief Operating Officer of CommNet Cellular, a wireless service provider; as managing director of MobiLink, a nationwide joint venture of telecom companies; and has held senior executive positions leading both domestic market operations and international initiatives for AirTouch/PacTel (now operating domestically as Verizon Wireless, and globally as Vodafone Group). Lurie received his bachelor degrees in accounting and language/communication from the Universities of Cape Town and Natal, and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

McDowell brings 20 years of enterprise sales and sales management experience to ProfitLine. Most recently, McDowell served as vice president of sales for QuantumShift, a provider of outsourced communications management services. Previously, McDowell was executive vice president at SupplyPro, Inc. an Internet-based supply chain management company, where he managed all sales and operations. McDowell also served as vice president of sales, marketing, and operations for Polycom, Inc., the world leader in teleconferencing products and services; as vice president of sales for Corsair, where he was responsible for sales of systems and services to wireless carriers and infrastructure equipment manufacturers around the world; and as general manager for Octel Communications responsible for managing U.S. sales of voice information systems. McDowell received both his BS in Accounting and MBA from San Diego State University.
